EXPRESSING ITS SUPPORT TO SENATE BILL NO. 61
SPONSORED BY
SENATOR JUAN EDGARDO “SONNY” M. ANGARA
ENTITLED: “AN
ACT UPGRADING THE MINIMUM SALARY GRADE
LEVEL OF TEACHERS FROM SALARY GRADE 11 TO 19”
WHEREAS, on July 1, 2013, Senator Juan Edgardo
“Sonny” Angara sponsored a bill seeking to
upgrade the minimum salary grade level of teachers from salary grade 11 to 19;
WHEREAS, teachers have a vital role in
our society considering that they impart knowledge and their influence affects
eternity;
WHEREAS, public school teachers are
among the most underpaid workers given their workload, rendering their time
even beyond the normal working hours compared to an ordinary employee;
WHEREAS, our country has lost many good
teachers who opted to teach abroad due to the relatively low salary they
received;
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City
Councilors Alreuela M. Bundang-Ortiz and
Benjamin G. Cajudo, II, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the
Sangguniang Panlungsod present,
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by
the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to express, as it hereby expresses
its support to Senate Bill No. 61 sponsored by Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M.
Angara entitled: “An Act Upgrading The Minimum Salary Grade Level Of Teachers
From Salary Grade 11 to 19”.

furnished to Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara and the Senate of the
Republic of the Philippines
for their information.
