A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING
DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF THE LATE EDGARDO ZAMORA
TALLADA, A.K.A. TATA EDDIE, A LEGENDARY MUSICIAN OF OLONGAPO CITY
AND FORMER COUNCILMAN
OF BARANGAY MABAYUAN
WHEREAS, Edgardo “Tata Eddie” Tallada, who was born
on August 15, 1939 in Bambang, Sta. Cruz, Manila, is a legendary icon of Olongapo
City’s Music Entertainment;
WHEREAS, he died in the Grace of Our
Lord, on August 8, 2015 at the age of 75, leaving his wife, Evangeline
Palma-Tallada, three children Edlyn, Edgardo Jr. and Erlinda in utmost grief
and sorrow;
WHEREAS, he served as a Barangay
Councilman of Barangay Mabayuan in 1984 and continued to serve his community,
in and out public office;
WHEREAS, his career as a musician called as “combo”, started in
the 1950’s;
WHEREAS, in 1981, he founded the “Eddie
Tallada and Company”, a band performing Oldies but Goodies music that became
very popular in the music industry and put Olongapo City in the map of
Philippine entertainment;
WHEREAS, he was the recipient of the
1989 Aliw Awards Ambassador for Music;
WHEREAS, his great dedication keeping
the Oldies but Goodies music alive in Olongapo City for so many years, became
his legacy as a great musician for all seasons.
NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous
accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,
RESOLVED,
AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by
the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express as it hereby
expresses deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the late Edgardo Zamora
Tallada, a.k.a. Tata Eddie, a legendary musician of Olongapo City
and former Councilman of Barangay Mabayuan.
