RESOLUTION NO. 151

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR
HON. JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE JAMES L. GORDON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (JLGMH) WITH HANJIN HEAVY
INDUSTRIES AND CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD.


WHEREAS, Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Co., Ltd. is the principal contractor for the establishment of the shipbuilding facility project at the Redondo Peninsula, Sitio Agusuhin, Cawag Subic, Zambales of which the owner/client is HHIC-Phil Inc., who signed a lease agreement with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority to establish a shipbuilding business in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone;

WHEREAS, the principal contractor taking into consideration the huge number of employees under its employ for the execution of the project, is aware of the hazards of the construction activities on the health and welfare of its employees, thus, is in need of an excellent hospital that will render such services;

WHEREAS, Olongapo City operates the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH) that could cater to the needs of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Co., Ltd., because it is equipped with the state of the art medical facilities and is maintained by qualified medical and technical staff;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes The City Mayor Hon. James Gordon, Jr. To Enter Into A Memorandum Of Agreement For And In Behalf Of The James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH) With Hanjin Heavy Industries And Construction Co., Ltd..
