RESOLUTION NO. 142
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OLONGAPO CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTED BY CITY MAYOR, HON. JAMES “BONG” GORDON, JR., TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
WITH THE CENTRAL LUZON COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, REPRESENTED BY MELODY P. GUIAO, MBA (Ph.D.) ,
VP FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS, FOR THE AFFILIATION AND TRAINING
OF NURSING/CAREGIVER/NURSING ASSISTANT STUDENTS
OF THE SAID ACADEMIC INSTITUTION

WHEREAS, the Central Luzon College of Science and Technology (CELTECH College), a duly recognized institution by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), is a long time academic institution established in the city;

WHEREAS, the said institution, with its Nursing/Caregiver/Nursing Assistant courses offered, needs to provide a venue for their students’ training on community healthcare delivery;

WHEREAS, the City Health Department and the seventeen (17) satellite Barangay Health Centers are loaded with tasks due to the voluminous number of individuals and families attended to, in relation to the number of health care providers;

WHEREAS, the institution’s affiliation with the City Health Department for the training of their Nursing/Caregiver/Nursing Assistant students will be an additional manpower, and is hoped to make the healthcare delivery more accessible to all, especially to those who need them most, the indigent sick members of the community;

WHEREAS, CELTECH College shall adhere to the provisions of the MOA and to the DOH policies and guidelines on healthcare delivery by students;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Angelina B. Andrada, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sanggunaing Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby auhorizes the Olongapo City Health Department represented by City Mayor, Hon. James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Central Luzon College of Science and Technology, represented by Melody P. Guiao, MBA (Ph.D.) , VP for Academic Affairs, for the affiliation and training of nursing/caregiver/nursing assistant students of the said academic institution.
