RESOLUTION NO. 128

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEP CONDOLENCES TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF MR. RUPERTO B. GATPO, PUROK LEADER OF BARANGAY STA. RITA, THIS CITY


WHEREAS, Mr. Ruperto B. Gatpo, Purok Leader of Barangay Sta. Rita, this City, passed away to be with his Creator on September 10, 2007, after battling with liver cancer;

WHEREAS, the 71- year old purok leader joined the Barangay Sta. Rita officialdom in 1992, right after his retirement as one of the skilled workers of the Mechanical-Machinery (Mech-Mach) Group under the Ship Repair Facility, U.S. Naval Base, where he exemplified the ideals of commitment and hardwork in his 28 years of meritorious service;

WHEREAS, Purok Leader Gatpo will always be remembered as the one who spearheaded the construction of the hanging bridge connecting the old public market at West Bajac-Bajac and Manggahan Street, Sta. Rita. The installation of new electric posts, certain road projects and the basketball court in the said area also stood as silent witnesses of the enthusiasm and diligence he generously shared with the community;

WHEREAS, Barangay Sta. Rita appreciates his genuine concern in assisting the needs of his fellowmen. He had an inexhaustible and compassionate spirit that his ailing body could not quench;

WHEREAS, the City joins Barangay Sta. Rita for having lost one of their persevering primemovers and hopes that his bereaved family will courageously move on from this momentary grief;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to express, as it hereby expresses deep condolences to the bereaved family of Mr. Ruperto B. Gatpo, Purok Leader of Barangay Sta. Rita, this City.

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the bereaved family of Mr. Ruperto B. Gatpo for their information and record.
