A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HON. CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ACCEPT THE DONATION OF ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN (111) LOGS/BOLTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES (DENR) AND SIGN THE DEED OF DONATION / ACCEPTANCE OR NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS FOR ITS CONSUMMATION IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, as per information from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office of Olongapo City (CENRO), there is a Memorandum from the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) dated July 16, 2012 directing the donation of forest products to government units, entities, instrumentality and offices as long as the donated forest products are not covered nu any lien or encumbrance;

WHEREAS, there subsists stockpiled one hundred eleven (111) logs/bolts categorized as firewood with the CENRO, which is under the supervision and control of the DENR Region III. The said logs/bolts are unutilized, in risk of deterioration due to exposure to the hazards of nature, and are not subject to any lien or encumbrance nor involved in any court cases;

WHEREAS, the logs were derived from the various tree species cut by the Subic Bay Town Center, Inc. with permit granted by the DENR and was turned-over to CENRO;

WHEREAS, the DENR Region III and CENRO endeavored to instead donate these logs/bolts to the City of Olongapo for better use by the community for the construction of wooden benches, tables and facilities for public service as may be viable;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Eduardo J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the Hon. City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to Accept the Donation of One Hundred Eleven (111) Logs/Bolts from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Sign the Deed of Donation / Acceptance or Necessary Instruments for its Consummation in a Manner Consistent with Law.
