RESOLUTION NO. 56

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING BARANGAY KALAKLAN FOR WINNING IN THE 2014 LUPONG TAGAPAMAYAPA INCENTIVES AND AWARDS ( LTIA), CITY AND REGIONAL LEVEL FOR THE HIGHLY-URBANIZED CITIES CATEGORY

WHEREAS,  pursuant to Section 406 (b) of the Local Government Code and Executive Order 394, Series of 1997, the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards was established to give recognition to the Lupong  Tagapamayapa’s significant assistance to the local and central government in the promotion of the mediation proceedings at the Barangay level;

WHEREAS,  the Lupong Tagapamayapa  are evaluated in three (3) major criteria, namely: Efficiency in the Operation of the Lupong  Tagapamayapa,  Effectiveness in Attaining the Katarungang Pambarangay  (KP) and Creativity and Resourcefulness in the Administration of KP;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Justice System of Barangay Kalaklan provided a forum which amicably resolved and settled several disputes and cases at the Barangay level with the effective use and application of the mediation structure created for KP, thus, providing sufficient assistance and relief to the Judiciary for the lessened volume in the number of cases they need to address;

 WHEREAS, Barangay Kalaklan garnered the highest overall performance rating given by the evaluating team composed of the Department of Interior and Local Government-Region III as the lead agency, the Philippine National Police, Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Civil Society Organizations, Non-Government Organizations and the President of the Liga ng mga Barangay.

            NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Randy C. Sionzon, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVE, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to commend as it hereby commends Barangay Kalaklan for Winning in the 2014 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards(LTIA), City and Regional level for the Highly-Urbanized Cities Category.
