A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR, HONORABLE ROLEN C. PAULINO TO ENTER INTO AND SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY, MSMED COUNCIL-OLONGAPO AND COLUMBAN COLLEGE RELATIVE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE “GO NEGOSYO ACT”

WHEREAS, the approval of Republic Act 10644, “An Act Promoting Job Generation And Inclusive  Growth Through The Development Of Micro, Small And Medium Enterprises Otherwise Known As The “Go Negosyo Act” aims to foster national development, promote inclusive growth, reduce poverty by encouraging the establishment of Micro, Small And Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that facilitate local job creation, production and trade, and bring government services closer to small businesses through the establishment of Negosyo Centers in all provinces, cities and municipalities in the country;

WHEREAS, with the “Go Negosyo Act”, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) with the support of the city and other government agencies expects to further boost its assistance to Micro, Small And Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to grow, flourish and intensify the promotion of entrepreneurship in the country;

WHEREAS, the “Go Negosyo Act” mandates the creation of Negosyo Centers which would be directly supervised by the DTI in every province, city and municipality nationwide.  These centers, to be established in the City, would ease the process of starting up and registering small business;

WHEREAS, the Negosyo Centers would facilitate development programs as well as provide support for business conceptualizations, management, team building, marketing, human resources and many other aspects of maintaining businesses;

            WHEREAS, the MSMED Council-Olongapo and Columban  College, as program partners, shall provide avenues/sources of competent technical expertise to accelerate the implementation of the program;

            WHEREAS, the MSMED Council-Olongapo and Columban College, expressed willingness to tie up with Negosyo Centers to provide technical and expert advice to the MSMEs;

NOW, THEREFORE, on the motion of City Councilor Benjamin G. Cajudo II co-sponsored by City Councilor Aquilino Y. Cortez, Jr., with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the SangguniangPanlungsod in session assembled to authorize as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor, Honorable  Rolen C. Paulino to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Trade and Industry, MSMED Council-Olongapo and Columban College relative to the implementation of the ‘Go Negosyo Act”
