WHEREAS, computerization of pertinent data facilitates convenience and efficiency in processing of papers; in the preparation of various communications and documents; and in the organization, storage and retrieval of files and information;

WHEREAS, the Computer Modernization Program of the City of Olongapo aims to provide accurate and smooth processing of requirements for various government transactions;

WHEREAS, there is a need for the Sangguniang Panlungsod to encode in the computer all the City Ordinances and Resolutions for the easy access and ready reference of all;

NOW, THEREFORE, on joint motion of Councilors Rodel S. Cerezo and Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:


ORDINANCE NO. 02
(Series of 2008)

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COMPUTERIZATION OF ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS ENACTED AND ADOPTED RESPECTIVELY BY THE PREVIOUS SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD AND THE PRESENT SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN LINE WITH THE COMPUTER MODERNIZATION PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF OLONGAPO

BE IT ORDAINED , BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED THAT:


SECTION 1. TITLE. This ordinance shall be known as an ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COMPUTERIZATION OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD.

SECTION 2. ENCODING. Each ordinance and resolution shall be encoded in its entirety, stating therein its status whether it is still effective, already repealed, or if amended, stating therein what section, paragraph or part thereof is amended.

SECTION 3. INDEX AND FILING. Ordinances and significant resolutions shall be arranged separately in their own folders according to their respective subject matters and chronological order, the ordinances being separated from resolutions, and are preceded by their corresponding index of titles.

SECTION 4. SEPARABILITY CLAUSE. If for any reason, any provision, section or part of this ordinance is declared not valid by a Court of competent jurisdiction or suspended, such judgment shall not affect or impair the remaining provisions, sections or parts thereof shall remain or continue to be in full force and effect.

SECTION 5. EFFECTIVITY. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
