RESOLUTION NO. 35
(Series of 2008)

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST OF BARANGAY EAST BAJAC-BAJAC TO OPERATE A MINI FAIR WITHIN THEIR JURISDICTION SUBJECT TO THE PRESCRIBED GUIDELINES OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD


WHEREAS, carnivals and mini fairs established in conjunction with fiestas are good income generating means to fund projects for good causes;

WHEREAS, Barangay East Bajac-Bajac requested through Barangay Resolution No. 13, Series of 2008, permission to operate a mini fair in the said Barangay in order to raise funds for various barangay projects;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod hereby grants the request of Barangay East Bajac-Bajac with the condition that the preparation and operation of a mini fair shall be in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 49, Series of 2005 and upon compliance with the recommendations set by the same;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Angelito W. Baloy with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to approve, as it hereby approves the request of Barangay East Bajac-Bajac to operate a Mini Fair within their jurisdiction subject to the prescribed guidelines of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of the Sangguniang Panlungsod recommendations and the items stated therein shall form part of this Resolution.

RESOLVED FINALLY, AS IT IS HEREBY FINALLY RESOLVED, that a financial statement be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlungsod after the event.

RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE REQUEST OF BARANGAY EAST BAJAC-BAJAC FOR PUTTING UP OF MINI FAIR AS PART OF THEIR FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN IN CONJUCTION WITH THE CELEBRATION OF THEIR ANNUAL BARANGAY FIESTA


It is hereby recommended that Barangay East Bajac-Bajac’s request to operate a mini fair as part of their fund-raising activity be approved subject to the following conditions:

Specify the specific purpose of such fund-raising activity as stated in Section 391 Paragraph 11 of R.A. 7160 “… Provided that in appropriation thereof, specific purpose for which such fund-raising activity has been held shall be first satisfied …”

Require the barangay to submit the exact location of the mini fair.

Mini Fair operator must secure business permit from the City and should comply with the safety regulations of the Office of the City Mayor.

Require the barangay to secure a copy of Ordinance No. 49 Series of 2005 and comply with the conditions mandated therein.
