RESOLUTION NO. 191

(Series of 2009)

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE SISTERHOOD AGREEMENT ENTERED BY AND BETWEEN OLONGAPO CITY REPRESENTED BY THE HONORABLE MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. AND GUAM, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA) REPRESENTED BY HONORABLE JUDITH T. WON PAT, SPEAKER, GUAM LEGISLATURE

WHEREAS, the City Council unanimously passed Resolution No. 60, Series of 2009 extending invitation to Guam, USA to become twin-partner of Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, Guam Legislature passed Resolution No. 170-30 authorizing Speaker Judith T. Won Pat to sign in behalf of Guam, USA for the sisterhood agreement with Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, Mayor James Gordon, Jr. together with other city officials on invitation of Senator Eddie Calvo of Guam Legislature, signed the said sisterhood agreement last November 13, 2009;

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to ratify the said Sisterhood Agreement to herald its execution;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edwin J. Piano in behalf of the majority party and with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to ratify, as it hereby ratifies the Sisterhood Agreement Entered By and Between Olongapo City Represented by the Honorable Mayor James Gordon, Jr. And Guam, United States of America (USA) Represented by Honorable Judith T. Won Pat, Speaker, Guam Legislature.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the signed copy of the sisterhood agreement be made as an integral part of this Resolution.
