A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE SUBIC BAY METROPOLITAN AUTHORITY (SBMA) REPRESENTED BY ITS ADMINISTRATOR ARMAND C. ARREZA FOR THE OPERATION OF THE KALAKLAN LIGHTHOUSE


WHEREAS, the Kalaklan Lighthouse in Barangay Kalaklan is a living symbol that emanates the magnificence of Olongapo City and Subic Bay Freeport Zone giving illuminations to ships and sea vessels;

WHEREAS, SBMA and the City Government of Olongapo believe that the said lighthouse shall be an additional attraction for both local and foreign tourists;

WHEREAS, the operation of the Kalaklan Lighthouse will bring forth robust development that will benefit Olongapo City and Subic Bay Freeport Zone in terms of tourism projects and programs;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod deemed it necessary to authorize the City Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority for the operation of the Kalaklan Lighthouse;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes-Perez, with unanimous accord of the Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes, the City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) represented by its Administrator Armand C. Arreza for the operation of the Kalaklan Lighthouse.
