A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HON. CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER, EXECUTE AND SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT FOR THE PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT SERVICE OFFICE (PESO) KABUHAYAN STARTER KIT CAPABILITY BUILDING FOR LIVELIHOOD FORMATION WORTH ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (PHP187,500.00) FOR THE FIFTY-FIVE BENEFICIARIES DESIGNATED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT FROM THE CITY’S SEVENTEEN (17) BARAGAYS, IN A MANNER  CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, the Department of Labor and Employment, through coordination with Public Employment Service Offices seeks to intensify efforts towards entrepreneurship in line with the National Government’s mandate of empowering the people through job or industry generation;

WHEREAS, as part of the initiatives of the Department of Labor and Employment is the distribution of assistance to cities and municipalities through capacity building or trainings under their ‘Starter-Kit Program’ whereby the designed skills training by the Department of Labor for this year involves ‘whole body massage, hair cutting with hair color livelihood formation, and manicure/pedicure with foot spa;

WHEREAS, as per the Department of Labor and Employment determination, they will assist a starter-kit project in an amount not exceeding One Hundred Eighty Seven Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP187, 500.00), with twenty percent (20%) or Thirty Seven Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP37,500.00) of which shall be shouldered by the city for the fifty-five (550 total beneficiaries from the city’s seventeen barangays, which terms are to be embodied in the corresponding Memorandum of Agreement from the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Eduardo J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the Hon. City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to Enter, Execute and Sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Labor and Employment for the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Kabuhayan Starter Kit Capability Building for Livelihood Formation worth One Hundred Eighty Seven Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP187,500.00) for the Fifty-Five Beneficiaries Designated by the Department of Labor and Employment from the City’s Seventeen (17) Barangays, in a Manner Consistent with Law.
