A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO, EXECUTE AND SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE METRO OLONGAPO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INC. (MOCCI) FOR THE CONDUCT AND MANAGEMENT OF THE OLONGAPO MARDI GRAS 2012 ON OCTOBER 25 – 27, 2012

WHEREAS, the annual October celebration “Okroberfest” of Olongapo City will start on the 25^th of October of this year, which will again be the platform for our local business to show the uniqueness of their products and service;

WHEREAS, this year will be a new one with the recent opening of the nation’s biggest mall operator the SM City which will boost more tourists to stopover and enjoy the festivities prepared for this year’s Mardi Gras celebration;

WHEREAS, Mardi Gras has been a yearly activity for the City of Olongapo since the time of the Americans who influenced us with this kind of culture that the people of Olongapo continued all throughout the year and made even more festive with the participation of business groups, Non-Government Organizations, associations and others, to make this celebration much more exciting and full of fun and activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor James G. de los Reyes, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to Enter, Execute and Sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Metro Olongapo Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (MOCCI) for the conduct and management of the Olongapo Mardi Gras 2012 on October 25 – 27, 2012.
