A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE GORDON COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES’ RESOLUTION NO. 23, SERIES OF 2014 ENTITLED “A RESOLUTION APPROVING

THE REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM

THE GORDON COLLEGE TRUST FUND TO THE GORDON COLLEGE SPECIAL

 FUND (UNDER GENERAL FUND)

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod deems it proper that the resolution endorsed by Gordon College Board of Trustees pursuant to the approval of additional transfer of funds from the Gordon College Trust Fund to the Gordon College Special Fund (under General Fund) is necessary for adoption;

WHEREAS, City Ordinance No. 36, Series of 20014 provides that, “the Board of Trustees shall have the power to “receive budget and appropriate funds coming from the City Government of Olongapo and other sources for the purposes specified by law, such sums as may be provided for the support of the College”;

WHEREAS, during the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Gordon College held on December 2, 2014, Ms. Joy Cahilig, one of the Board of Trustees, presented the request of Gordon College for approval of additional transfer of funds from the Gordon College Trust Fund to the Gordon College Special Fund (under General Fund) to augment items under Maintenance and other Operating Expenses (MOOE) in the amount of Php2,770,000.00 as per attached justification and breakdown;

WHEREAS, the abovementioned Board Resolution is necessary to carry out the purposes and functions of Gordon College;

 NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Benjamin G. Cajudo II, co-sponsored by City Councilor Edna A. Elane, with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to adopt, as it hereby adopts the Gordon College Board of Trustees Resolution No. 23, Series of 2014 entitled “A Resolution Approving The Request For Approval Of Additional Transfer Of Funds From The Gordon College Trust Fund To The Gordon College Special  Fund (Under General Fund)”

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that copy of the Gordon College Board of Trustees Resolution No. 23, Series of 2014 with attachments be made as integral parts of this Resolution.

WHEREAS, besides the  “Aeta Vegetable Farming and Seedling” project, the provision for ten pairs of animals (to replace the provision of draft horses)  for our Aeta communities has also been identified  and approved as one of the eligible projects under 2014 the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Projects ready for implementation;

WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Agreement to be entered into by Olongapo City with the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office III (DA-RFOIII) is in order and included the said projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

            RESOLVED,  AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED,  by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the  City Mayor, Honorable Rolen C. Paulino to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Agreement between the  Department Of Agriculture – Regional Field Office III (DA-RFOIII) and the City of Olongapo for the implementation of  Agriculture Post-Harvest Facility Projects For Aeta (Provision Of 10-Pairs Of Animals) under the 2014  Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process

            WHEREAS, University of Cordilleras organized and instituted Project H.E.L.E.N which stands for Health, Education, Livelihood, Environment and Nurturance Program;

            WHEREAS, one of the projects of Project H.E.L.E.N is rendering assistance to basic education through Book Donation Program and Wheelchair Donation Program;

            WHEREAS, University of Cordilleras through its community arm, Project H.E.L.E.N represented by Dra. Leonarda R. Aguinalde in her capacity as Vice-President for Administration to donate Six Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty Three (6,863) units and two (2) kits of K-12 books and (5) Wheelchairs;

            WHEREAS, donations will benefits Ten (10) Academic institutions based in the City of Olongapo namely:

4.      Sta Rita High School

5.      Sergia Soriano Integrated School

WHEREAS, the proposed donation is made through the effort of Ms. Cecilia Obispo Santiago Batch 83’ of Saint Joseph College and true blood Olongapeno;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting to commend and extend our deepest gratitude to benevolent act of University of Cordilleras who have greatly contributed to the enhancement of educational capabilities our students here in the City of Olongapo;
