A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACCREDITATION OF RORBE WISDOM ALLIANCE, INC. PURSUANT TO REPUBLIC ACT 7160 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES AND ITS IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS

WHEREAS, Rorbe Wisdom Alliance, Inc. applied to be accredited by the Sangguniang Panlungsod with accompanying documents such as SEC Registration, Annual Accomplishment Reports, Annual Financial Reports, and Organizational Profiles;

WHEREAS, Rorbe Wisdom Alliance, Inc. has the corresponding SEC Certificate of Registration Number and Date of Issuance:

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Eyrma Yvette Marzan-Estrella, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session assembled, to approve as it hereby approves the accreditation of Rorbe Wisdom Alliance, Inc. pursuant to Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government  Code of the Philippines and its Implementing rules and regulations.

A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF DR. VIRGINIA AKIATE AS MEMBER OF THE GORDON COLLEGE-BOARD OF TRUSTEES

WHEREAS, pursuant to City Ordinance No. 9, Series of 1999, Olongapo City Colleges now known as Gordon College, was created with the mandate of providing excellent quality education for the poor and deserving students of Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, this responsibility is carried out mainly by the school’s Board of Trustees, comprised by qualified persons with academic and technical expertise in formulating policies and decisions for the attainment of the institution’s mission and vision;

WHEREAS, Dr. Akiate currently serves as Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDROIII), covering the 185 colleges and universities in Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Aurora and Zambales;

WHEREAS, Dr. Akiate also served as Chief Education Program Specialist as CHED-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) as well as OIC-College President at Surigao State College of Technology, and have significantly contributed in the operations of both institutions;

WHEREAS, in the exigencies of service, Dr. Akiate was appointed as interim member of the Board of Trustees pending compliance with pertinent legislative requirements;

WHEREAS, by reason of his vast experience as an education specialist, she exemplifies the ideals a local educational institution akin to Gordon College should emulate, and was thus formally nominated for membership on the said board subject to the required confirmation under pertinent laws;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Eyrma Yvette Marzan-Estrella, with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session assembled, to confirm, as it hereby confirms the appointment of Dr. Virginia Akiate as Member of the Gordon College-Board of Trustees.

A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND ENDORSING FOR IMPLEMENTATION GORDON COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES RESOLUTION NO. 18, SERIES OF 2011 RECOMMENDING FOR ADOPTION THE NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMS IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, there is a continuing need to ensure that the courses offered by Gordon College would be responsive to labor/industry demand;

WHEREAS, after evaluation, study, and discussion, the Board of Trustees of Gordon College adopted Board Resolution No. 18, Series of 2011 dated December 2, 2011 which recommended the adoption of new course offerings, and which include ‘Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, and Proficiency Certificate in Shipbuilding;

WHEREAS, Gordon College made the said recommendation with a view to the need to first comply with the necessary legal protocols such as securing the necessary permits and certifications from the pertinent city Offices and from government regulatory agencies;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Eyrma Yvette Marzan-Estrella, with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session assembled, to recognize and endorse, as it hereby recognizes and endorses for implementation Gordon College Board of Trustees Resolution No. 18, Series of 2011 recommending for adoption the new academic programs in a manner consistent with law.
