A RESOLUTION GREETING HONORABLE AMELIA J. GORDON, FORMER OLONGAPO CITY MAYOR AND RECIPIENT OF THE PRESTIGIOUS RED CROSS GOLD HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AND PEARL S. BUCK’S “WOMAN OF THE YEAR” AWARDS ON HER 89TH BIRTHDAY

WHEREAS, Former City Mayor and Philippine National Red Cross – City Chapter Chair Honorable Amelia J. Gordon is honored with a Gold Humanitarian Service Award for her enduring thirty plus years of volunteer service, dedicated and extensive work with the PNRC in carrying out its mission to bring timely, effective and compassionate humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable in the society, regardless of nationality, race, creed, gender, social status and political belief;

WHEREAS, the Award is dedicated to supporting and raising the awareness for the public to recognize the commitment, volunteerism and philanthropic humanitarian actions of individuals all for the said mission;

WHEREAS, it can be recalled that the Former Mayor has already been a recipient of the international accolade, Pearl S. Buck’s “Woman of the Year” Award in 2002 for her boundless devotion in improving the quality of life of women and children particularly orphans, Amerasians and minorities. Even at the ripe of age, Mrs. Gordon continued to provide glimpses of hope for people who are in dire need;

WHEREAS, through her deep compassion, steadfast support and active involvement in the Red Cross mission, in whatever circumstances, she had mentored many about selflessness and generosity as well as engaged people to get involved, too;

WHEREAS, on her 89th birthday, the City celebrates the life and positive impact Madame Amelia liberally shares the City, for which Olongapo is so proud and fortunate of;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to commend, as it hereby commends Honorable Amelia J. Gordon, Former Olongapo City Mayor and recipient of the prestigious Red Cross Gold Humanitarian Service and Pearl S. Buck’s “Woman of the Year” Awards on her 89th Birthday.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF DIGITEL TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. (SUN CELLULAR) FOR THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF CELLSITE/GSM ANTENNA AT BARANGAY OLD CABALAN, OLONGAPO CITY

WHEREAS, Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. (DIGITEL) a corporation duly organized and existing under Philippine Laws, with principal office located at 40th Floor, Robinsons Equitable Tower ADB Avenue corner Poveda Street Ortigas Center, Pasig City thru their official Site Acquisition Contractor Samwoo Construction/JAGS Management applied for a permit to allow the construction, installation and operation of a Digitel Cellular Antenna located at ARPN AB-00017-00845 National Highway, Old Cabalan, Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, with Digitel’s well-known capability of providing world class telecommunication system that produces seamless cellular coverage and accessibility, residents and subscribers of Digitel Telecom in the City and adjoining areas will be assured of uninterrupted link to personal and business communications;

WHEREAS, the Olongapo Telecom and IT Board was created under City Ordinance No. 24, Series of 2004 and Executive Order No. 84-A, Series of 2005 where its duties and functions to implement Guidelines, Rules and Regulations are defined under Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 13, Series of 2005;

WHEREAS, Samwoo Construction/JAGS Management had presented to the Olongapo Telecom and IT Board the necessary documents that warrant the approval of the Board for them to proceed with their application and had accomplished other pertinent requirements for the approval of the same;

WHEREAS, Barangay Old Cabalan, after public consultation and submission of signed neighbors’ consent, passed Resolution 14, Series of 2008, giving clearance to the said project and placed on record that no objection had been noted for the said construction;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to approve as it hereby approves the application of Digitel Telecommunications, Inc. (Sun Cellular) for the installation and operation of Cellsite/GSM antenna at Barangay Old Cabalan, Olongapo City;

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that Barangay Old CAbalan Resolution No. 14, Series of 2008 and a copy of the signed neighbors’ consent as well as other pertinent documents be made as integral parts of this Resolution.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the Samwoo Construction/JAGS Management, Digitel Telecommunications, Inc. (DIGITEL), Olongapo City Telecom and IT Board and the National Telecommunications Commission for their information and record.
