WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is an active partaker in worthwhile undertakings for the benefit of its less fortunate members of the society.

WHEREAS, Olongapo City recognizes the selfless effort of companies from various industries in this case, the Philippine International Trading Corporation- Pharmaceutical Incorporated, a government-owned international trading company with over thirty years experience in the export, import and marketing of a wide range of commodities, industrial products and consumer goods;

WHEREAS, in line with the constant realization of its social responsibilities, the said company agrees to donate quality medicines to be used in Medical and Dental Mission to be spearheaded by the Office of City Vice-Mayor and the City Council;

A RESOLUTION EXTENDING SINCEREST APPRECIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES (DENR) FOR THE DENR PROCLAMATION AWARDING THE HALFMOON BEACH ACCRETED AREA IN FAVOR OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO

WHEREAS, Secretary Angelo T. Reyes of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) issued a Memorandum dated December 13, 2006 for the proclamation awarding the Halfmoon Beach accreted area in favor of the City Government of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, the said Memorandum from the Secretary of DENR can boost the marketing concept of local investors to promote the local community products thus may generate additional employment to Olongapenos;

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is positioning the Halfmoom Beach as one of the tourist destination areas as the Subic-Clark-Tarlac has opened to serve as a gateway for additional tourists influx that will help the local economy;

WHEREAS, the Olongapenos are seeking out for strategic and cheaper location to serve as venue for celebrating their special occasions or small gatherings with different purposes, likewise, a place where to unwind while enjoying the refreshing plunge in salt water;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes Perez co-sponsored by Councilors Rodel S. Cerezo, Edwin J. Piano, Aquilino Y. Cortez, Jr., Anselmo A. Aquino,
Elena C. Dabu, Jonathan G. Manalo and Cheenee F. Hoya, with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

WHEREAS, cognizant of the benefits of the proposed affiliation, this august body considers it favorable to bestow authority to the Local Chief Executive to partake in such undertaking;

In the interest of the public service and on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes-Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 55
(Series of 2008)

AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POSITIONS OF ONE (1) REGISTRAR II (SG-15) AND ONE (1) GUIDANCE COUNSELOR III (SG-12) AND CREATING POSITIONS OF ONE (1) REGISTRAR I SG-11 AND ONE (1) GUIDANCE COUNSELOR I (SG-10) UNDER GORDON COLLEGE

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The positions of one (1) Registrar II (SG-15) and one (1) Guidance Counselor III (SG-12) are hereby abolished and positions of one (1) Registrar I (SG-11) and one (1) Guidance Counselor I (SG-10) under Gordon College are hereby created in line with the “Scrap and Build” Policy in the organization and/or staffing adjustments/movements.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

SECTION 3. The pertinent letter-request of the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon Jr., dated 12 September 2008, Memorandum from Ms. Arlida M. Pame dated 11 August 2008 shall be made as integral parts of this Ordinance.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
