RESOLUTION NO. 237

A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING MS. PAULINE GARRISON FOR WINNING THE MISS BIKINI WORLD 2006 (2ND RUNNER- UP) HELD IN TAIWAN LAST DECEMBER 21, 2006 AND APPOINTING HER AS THE AMBASSADRESS OF TOURISM OF OLONGAPO CITY

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is supporting all tourism programs that will lead to promoting the city as a prime tourist destination;

WHEREAS, beauty pageants are held all around the globe to promote tourism, love, charity, environmental awareness as well as the protection and preservation of Mother Nature;

WHEREAS, Miss Bikini World is a beauty contest, owned and produced by Miss Tourism World Organisation, which offers their competitions to countries as a tool to promote tourism within regions;

WHEREAS, last December 21, 2006, Miss Pauline Garrison a 19-year old Psychology student from Gordon Heights, Olongapo City, joined Miss Bikini World 2006 held in Taiwan and won 2nd runner-up, making her excel among 48 nations;

WHEREAS, Miss Pauline Garrison, is trained in this field as she has joined several beauty pageants like Ms. Philippines 2005 (one of the fifteen (15) finalists),Ms. Makati (best in long gown award) , Ms. Blue Rock (1st runner- up), Bb. Zambales (one of the ten (10) finalists), Ms. Mart 1 (2nd runner-up), L3 Sexiest Babes (title holder), and Ms. Bikini Olongapo (2nd runner-up);

WHEREAS, the City recognizes such accomplishment as her finest contribution that will complement the developmental endeavors of the City;

WHEREAS, with her experience, expertise, and the international award that brings forth pride and prestige; the City Government of Olongapo is hereby appointing Ms. Pauline Garrison as its Ambassadress of Tourism to help in the promotion of Olongapo City as a prime tourist destination;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina G. Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to congratulate, as it hereby congratulates Ms. Pauline Garrison for winning the Miss Bikini World 2006 (2nd runner- up) held in Taiwan last December 21, 2006 and to appoint her as the Ambassadress of Tourism of Olongapo City.

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SYMPATHY TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF FORMER COUNCILMAN RUPERTO N. ANCAYA OF BARANGAY BANICAIN


WHEREAS, former Barangay Councilman Ruperto N. Ancaya of Banicain, Olongapo City passed away to be with his Creator on December 27, 2006;

WHEREAS, aware of his leadership capabilities as a former base worker and community worker, Kagawad Ancaya was elected and took seat as Barangay Councilman in 1982 up to 2005;

WHEREAS, his 23 years of unfaltering service earned him the distinction in the “Gawad ng Paglilingkod sa Barangay” given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government last January 29, 2006 in recognition of his long and significant community service in attending to the needs of his constituents;

WHEREAS, the City joins the Ancaya Family in the loss of their beacon and Barangay Banicain for the demise of one of their most loved councilmen;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express, as it hereby expresses sympathy to the bereaved family of former Councilman Ruperto N. Ancaya of Barangay Banicain.
