A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND RECOGNIZING THE DELEGATES OF OLONGAPO CITY WHO WON IN THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED 2007 CLRAA MEET HELD IN MALOLOS, BULACAN

WHEREAS, Olongapo City extends its hearty congratulations to the City’s contingents to the recently concluded Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet at Malolos, Bulacan;

WHEREAS, the young contingents raked in 50 gold, 23 silver and 29 bronze medals in different events significant for the City to rank fourth (4th) in the Overall rating;

WHEREAS, the City is proud to have its athletes conquer this regional mind and muscle battle for the league’s best records as the breeding ground for the country’s best athletes and sports icons;

WHEREAS, the athletes’ admirable discipline, perseverance and focus amidst rigorous training backed up by the indefatigable support of their coaches, families and community will serve as an inspiration to the young populace to engage in worthwhile activities such as sports;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan, with the unanimous accord of the Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to congratulate, as it hereby congratulates the delegates of Olongapo City who won in the recently concluded 2007 CLRAA Meet held in Malolos, Bulacan.

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO REPRESENTED BY CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. AND THE COLUMBAN COLLEGE – COLLEGE OF NURSING & SCHOOL OF MIDWIFERY REPRESENTED BY ITS ACTING PRESIDENT REV. MSGR. CRISOSTOMO CACHO, VGPC, REGARDING HEALTH PROGRAMS


WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Health Department and Barangay Health Centers, with their provision of health services, directly benefit the general public;

WHEREAS, the affiliation of nursing and midwifery students from Columban College to the City Health Department will not only help train students but will also bring additional healthcare providers to serve the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to ratify, as it hereby ratifies the Memorandum of Agreement Entered into by and Between the City Government of Olongapo Represented by City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. and the Columban College – College of Nursing & School of Midwifery Represented by its Acting President Rev. WHEREAS, the Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Ministries Philippines, Inc. (HHHHMPI) is a non – stock, non – profit organization duly organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, operating at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital and at No. 6 Harris St., East Bajac – Bajac, Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, HHHHMPI provides among others, the physical needs of indigent patients of James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, most especially within the pediatric department by offering medical assistance in the form of medicines, medical supplies and finances for work – ups and operations. In cases where families have traveled from a distance, assistance is also extended for clothing, food and fares as well as temporary shelter for sick children at the Children Recovery Unit following their treatment at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, until they are well enough to return to their own home environment or to the care of the DSWD as the need arises;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor John Carlos G. Delos Reyes with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

SECTION 1. The request for exemption from payment of Transfer Tax of parcels of Land donated in favor of Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Ministries Philippines, Inc. (HHHHMPI) is hereby waived.


SECTION 2. The 1st Indorsement of the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. dated March 20, 2007 is hereby made as an integral part of this Ordinance.

WHEREAS, the full integration of Olongapo City National High School – James L. Gordon Integrated School had been approved;

WHEREAS, in the implementation of Olongapo City National High School – James L. Gordon Integrated School, the transfer of 10 Teacher I positions as reflected under NOSCA No. 0302005 – 08 – 007 was deemed necessary for action and funding. However, this was not given favorable action as James L. Gordon Integrated School since it was officially named as Olongapo City National High School – James L. Gordon Integrated School;

WHEREAS, by virtue of a Sangguniang Panlungsod ordinance, the change of name will significantly effect the aforesaid transfer and the filling - in of vital Teacher I requirements of the said school;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan, with the Majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:


ORDINANCE NO. 14

AN ORDINANCE RENAMING “OLONGAPO CITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL – JAMES L. GORDON INTEGRATED SCHOOL” LOCATED AT BARANGAY KABABAE TO “JAMES L. GORDON INTEGRATED SCHOOL”

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. The requirements of renaming of schools under DECS Order No. 5, Series 1989 has been superseded by Section 99 (d) of R.A.9160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code.

SECTION 2. As per DECS Memorandum No. 386, Series 1999, an ordinance from the Sangguniang Panlungsod would suffice the changing of the name of the school.


SECTION 3. The name “Olongapo City National High School – James L. Gordon Integrated School” be officially named as “James L. Gordon Integrated School”.

SECTION 4. The pertinent letter request of Ms. Josefina T. Pagot, Principal of the said school and the Indorsement of Ms. Dinah F. Mindo, Director IV of the Department of Education region III be made as integral parts of this Ordinance
