A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CHIEF GIRL SCOUTS OF THE CITY WHO HAVE EARNED AWARDS IN THE CHIEF GIRL SCOUTS MEDAL SCHEME GIVEN BY THE GSP NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS

WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines endeavors to help girls and young women realize the ideals of womanhood and prepare themselves for the responsibilities in the home, the nation, and the international community;

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is proud that its young conglomerate of leaders, the Girl Scouts of the city are indeed committed to enhance and encourage their innovative capacities that will benefit not only the younger generation but also the community as a whole;

WHEREAS, the Chief Girl Scouts Medal Scheme (CGSM), GSP’s most prestigious award, is a special program created in 1975 encouraging Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts (young women aged 15 – 17) to initiative and implement a one-year community project in their respective barangays focusing on health, cultural heritage, livelihood and ecology. The main emphasis is on leadership, perseverance, and sense of responsibility towards herself and the community. Evaluation is focused not only on the project, but also on the performance and personal development;

WHEREAS, four (4) Girl Scouts of the city hurdled the challenges of the nation building and implemented action plans for each development, which earned the recognition of the GSP National Headquarters;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting to recognize the emulative efforts of the following Girl Scouts Medalists and the support of their troop leader and school for their achievement, to wit:

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungosd in session assembled, to commend, as it hereby commends, the Chief Girl Scouts of the City who have earned awards in the Chief Girl Scouts Medal Scheme Given by the GSP National Headquarters.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HON. CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER, EXECUTE AND SIGN THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND JOLLIBEE FOUNDATION FOR THE BUSOG LUSOG TALINO (BLT) SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM AND THE CORRESPONDING APPLICATION LETTER, IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, the Department of Education and the City of Olongapo have endeavored to engage in initiatives which promote the well-being, health and nutrition of the youth;

WHEREAS, the Department of Education and the Jollibee Foundation have engaged in a school feeding program, known as the “Busog Lusog Talino (BLT) School Feeding Program” where the City’s participation and contribution is indispensable;

WHEREAS, there is in need to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement to ensure that the project would be complaint with pertinent laws, rules and regulations on nutrition and he guidelines of the Department of Health on feeding programs;

NOW, THEREFORE, on joint motion of City Councilors Eyrma Yvette Marzan-Estrella and                 Edna A. Elane, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungosd in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the Hon. City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to enter, execute and sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education and Jollibee Foundation for the Busog Lusog Talino (BLT) School Feeding Program, and the corresponding application letter, in a manner consistent with law.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, to submit the required BLT site feeding program to Jollibee Foundation and Division of City Schools, Olongapo city.

RESOLUTION NO. 58

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE, REGION III FOR THE GRANT OF FUND ASSISTANCE TO THE CITY IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, the DSWD has a SEA – KAUNLARAN program (Grameen Scheme) prioritizing the Pantawid Family beneficiaries by reason of which it shall convey a grant of P500, 000.00 as fund support to the City’s social amelioration initiatives;

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 16, Series of 2012 entitled “A Resolution Authorizing the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. To Enter, Execute and Sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, Region 3 for the Grant of Fund Assistance to the City in a Manner Consistent with Law”, has been passed by the City Council on February 15, 2012 and duly approved by the City Mayor on February 27, 2012;

WHEREAS, there is in need to ratify the Memorandum of Agreement of the City and Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, Region 3 for the grant of Fund Assistance to the City in accordance with legal protocols;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Elena C. Dabu, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungosd in session assembled, to ratify, as it hereby ratifies, the Memorandum of Agreement between the City and Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, Region 3 for the grant of fund assistance to the city in a manner consistent with law.
