A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE SUBIC BAY METROPOLITAN AUTHORITY TO ALLOW AETA COMMUNITIES AND GAWANG GAPO MICRO ENTREPRENEURS TO PROMOTE AND SELL PRODUCTS IN CONSPICUOUS COMMERCIAL AND TOURISM PLACES AT THE SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE

WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo envisions to create more opportunities that will provide livelihood and employment likewise aspires to improve the lives of its constituency. It seeks to encourage creativeness, ingenuity and development of necessary skills of the residents through livelihood programs that require only small amount of capital to start a business but will alter on prosper and contribute to the local economy;

WHEREAS, the Gawang Gapo Program was established mainly to assist the micro entrepreneurs in the locality to promote business, livelihood and employment;

WHEREAS, the Aeta Communities and Gawang Gapo Micro Entrepreneurs have been diligent to be innovative in marketing their products not only in the City of Olongapo but also in the neighboring areas particularly at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone wherein foreign and local tourists flock for business and recreation;

WHEREAS, SBMA as the City’s partner in all its efforts to uplift the lives of the community, may extend its assistance to the aforesaid groups by providing opportunity for the local products to emerge and flourish in the market;

WHEREAS, to promote these products and sell them in conspicuous commercial and tourism attractions in Subic, one of the country’s top tourist destinations, may definitely help in achieving Olongapo City’s thrust to improve its livelihood programs;

WHEREAS, Aeta Communities and Gawang Gapo Micro Entrepreneurs may be placed near duty free stores, waterfront and other tourist destination areas. Per consultation, the usual location of Aeta Communities at the parking area infront of the former Chamber of Commerce has been conveniently enjoyed by the said group likewise at the area of Ocean 9 Building;

WHEREAS, history shows that the Aeta communities inside the Freeport zone, where the former US Naval Base is situated, are the actual dwellers of the place who preserved and protected the area. Their rich culture, tradition and skill in hovering the forest, the bay and mountainous areas inside the former base, enormously helped thousands of US Naval and Philippine military personnel combined in their innumerable peace-keeping missions and economic endeavors significant in the country’s development. It is deemed that their impact and contribution to what we are today should be complimented with programs such as this livelihood opportunity;

WHEREAS, waiving the local fees being paid by the Aeta Communities and our home-grown entrepreneurs at SBMA is one gesture that may express our deep acknowledgement of their rich contributions in the growth that we are experiencing today;

WHEREAS, having availed such relief from the paying of local fees, our micro entrepreneurs and Aeta brothers would have additional capital to strengthen their potentials and skills in developing into macro entrepreneurs and be equipped to compete with the global market, rippling its benefits to the local economy;

WHEREAS, it is hoped that such request for the waiving of fees be granted for and on behalf of our Aeta Communities and Gawang Gapo entrepreneurs;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to request, as it is hereby requests Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority to allow Aeta Communities and Gawang Gapo Micro Entrepreneurs to promote and sell their products in conspicuous commercial and tourism places at Subic Bay Freeport Zone;

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished to SBMA Board for its information and record.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER, EXECUTE, AND SIGN THE RENEWAL OF THE CONTRACT OF AFFILIATION BETWEEN JAMES L. GORDON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND CENTRAL LUZON COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, Central Luzon College of Science and Technology has students enrolled in the Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Caregiver, and Midwifery courses, which requires on-the-job-training and immersion to actual medical conditions to ensure that they have the necessary preparation and competencies in the future;

WHEREAS, the administration of the Central Luzon College of Science and Technology has requested for the renewal of its affiliation agreement with the city’s James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilors Eyrma Yvette Marzan-Estrella, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it is hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to enter, execute, and sign the renewal of the contract of affiliation between James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital and Central Luzon College of Science and Technology in a manner consistent with law.

RESOLUTION NO. 31

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER, EXECUTE, AND SIGN A MUTUAL ACCREDITATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE JAMES L. GORDON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND THE SM RETAIL, INC.

WHEREAS, SM Retail Inc, has decided to engage and secure the full range of medical services of the City’s James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital for all the medical requirements of its employees under mutual accreditation agreement;

WHEREAS, under the agreement SM Retail, Inc. shall remit the required payments for all medical services it avails within thirty (30) days from the receipt of the Statement of Account subject to a credit line amounting to One Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP100,000.00) per case where the credit if availed of, shall be payable within a period of thirty (30) days from presentation of the statement of account;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilors Edna A. Elane, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it is hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to enter, execute, and sign a Mutual Accreditation Agreement between the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital and the SM Retail, Inc. in a manner consistent with law.
