A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF CITY COUNCILOR ANSELMO A. AQUINO AND INDORSING HIM TO THE PHILIPPINE COUNCILORS LEAGUE AWARD FOR THREE TERMER COUNCILORS 2007-2009

WHEREAS, City Councilor Anselmo A. Aquino has been serving the City of Olongapo for several years as a remarkable public servant with various accomplishments both in the legislative and executive functions;

WHEREAS, City Councilor Aquino has started as one of the young and vibrant barangay officials in the city as a Barangay Councilman of West Tapinac from 1972 to 1982;

WHEREAS, his exceptional service, initiative and dedication were so evident that he was elected as Barangay Captain (Chairman) from 1982 to 1986. Such track record made him as one of the administration’s bet as City Councilor which he won and served for three consecutive terms (1988-1998), pushing major legislative programs especially in public works;

WHEREAS, due to R.A. 7160, Councilor Aquino had been the Olongapo City’s Vice-Mayor from March 22, 1995 to June 30, 1995;

WHEREAS, after this stint, he was again selected to complete the line up and once more elected as City Councilor from July 1, 2001 to end on June 30, 2010, another three term fulfilling a total of six (6) terms of unrelenting government service as City Councilor;

WHEREAS, with utmost perseverance to enforce law, he had been an appointed Board Member of the People’s Law Enforcement Board from January 6, 1999 to February 1, 2008;

WHEREAS, the aforementioned leader in Olongapo has proven to be a strong symbol of excellence that Olongapeños should emulate above all in public service;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Gina Gulanes Perez, co-sponsored by City Councilors Rodel S. Cerezo, Edwin J. Piano, Elena C. Dabu, Jonathan G. Manalo, Angelito W. Baloy, Aquilino Y. Cortez, Jr. and SK President Cheenee F. Hoya, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to acknowledge, as it hereby acknowledges the accomplishments of City Councilor Anselmo A. Aquino and indorsing him to the Philippine Councilors League Award for Three Termer Councilors 2007-2009.

Let copies of this resolution be furnished to the Philippine Councilors League National Board and Executive Officers for their information and appropriate action.

A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF CITY COUNCILOR EDWIN J. PIANO AND INDORSING HIM TO THE PHILIPPINE COUNCILORS LEAGUE AWARD FOR THREE TERMER COUNCILORS 2001-2010

WHEREAS, City Councilor Edwin J. Piano has been serving the City of Olongapo for several years as a remarkable public servant with various accomplishments both in the legislative and executive functions;

WHEREAS, City Councilor Edwin J. Piano has started his legislative stint last 2001 and from then, the councilor has been contributing to the local administration on information technology and telecommunication thereby making the city keep up with the current global trends;

WHEREAS, one of his major accomplishments is the putting up of the Olongapo Skills Training Center which contributes largely to the employment needs not only of the Freeport Economic Zone and providing as well to local and overseas companies;

WHEREAS, his rewarding achievements have contributed to the welfare of Olongapeños in developing their skills necessary for their career growth, likewise, resulted for his nomination to the 2009 Search for the Ten Outstanding Councilors of the Philippines being conducted by the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) in partnership with the Junior Chamber International (JCI);

WHEREAS, the aforementioned leader in Olongapo has proven to be a strong symbol of excellence that Olongapeños should emulate above all in public service;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the motion of City Councilor Gina Gulanes Perez, co-sponsored by City Councilors Rodel S. Cerezo, Angelito W. Baloy, Aquilino Y.Cortez, Jr., Anselmo A. Aquino, Elena C. Dabu, Jonathan G. Manalo, and SK President Cheenee F. Hoya with the unanimous accord of Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS OF MR. ROGER IRVINE AND DECLARING HIM AS AN ADOPTED SON OF OLONGAPO CITY


WHEREAS, James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital has provided exceptional service to the people of Olongapo for countless years now;

WHEREAS, Roger Irvine is the President of the Rotary Club of Stirling District 9520 in South Australia. He became the bridge and acted on behalf of Rotary Australia World Community Service Limited for their Donations in Kind Overseas Aid Project to James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital;

WHEREAS, Mr. Irvine acted as the intermediary between the City Government and the Rotary Australia World Community Service Limited and was in constant communication with the City Government in the realization of the Overseas Aid Project;

WHEREAS, with the unwavering assistance of Mr. Irvine, the City Government received generous donations to James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital in the form of medical/office equipment, supplies and the like;

WHEREAS, the donations of the Rotary Australia World Community Service Limited deliver continuous service for the constituents of Olongapo and its contiguous towns and cities;

WHEREAS, Mr. Irvine achieved the respect and admiration not just the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital Administration and Staff, but above all the people of Olongapo;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to acknowledge, as it hereby acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Mr. Roger Irvine and declaring him as an Adopted Son of Olongapo City.
