A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO REPRESENTED BY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. WITH THE PHILIPPINE OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT ADMINISTRATION (POEA) REPRESENTED BY ITS ADMINISTRATOR ATTY. ROSALINDA DIMAPILIS-BALDOZ

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod authorized the City Mayor, by virtue of Resolution No. 126, Series of 2008 to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) for the Anti-Illegal Recruitment Program;”

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod deemed it necessary that the said Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) be ratified to pave way for its full implementation in the city;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to ratify, as it hereby ratifies, the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) entered into by and between the City Government of Olongapo represented by Mayor James Gordon, Jr. with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) represented by its Administrator Atty. Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) be made as an integral part of this Resolution.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR HONORABLE JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE PHILIPPINE OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT ADMINISTRATION (POEA) REPRESENTED BY ITS ADMINISTRATOR ATTY. ROSALINDA DIMAPILIS-BALDOZ FOR THE ANTI-ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, Philippine Oversees Employment Administration (POEA), is a government agency tasked to promote, develop overseas employment program, protect the rights of migrant workers and regulate private sector participation in recruitment and overseas placement;

WHEREAS, Olongapo City’s thrust is to ensure local and overseas employment and protect Overseas Filipino Workers against illegal recruiters;

WHEREAS, POEA launched an Anti-Illegal Recruitment (AIR) information campaign that will enable Olongapo City thru its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to participate in this endeavor;

WHEREAS, the city government finds the agreement beneficial to the people of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, this resolution supersedes Resolution No. 113, Series of 2008, entitled, “A Resolution Authorizing Acting City Mayor Honorable Cynthia G. Cajudo To Enter Into A Memorandum Of Understanding With The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Represented By Its Administrator Atty. Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz For The Anti-Illegal Recruitment Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor Honorable James Gordon, Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration represented by its Administrator Atty.
