A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE GORDON COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES RESOLUTION NO. 24, SERIES OF 2014 ENTITLED: “A RESOLUTION APPROVING

 THE REVISED FEES FOR THESIS WRITING”

WHEREAS, the Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS) of Gordon College has four (4) ongoing programs namely: Master of Arts in Nursing, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Business Management and Master in Public Administration;

WHEREAS, one of the final requirement to complete any Master’s Degree Program is to accomplish a thesis writing;

WHEREAS, the current fees in the College are as follows:

                        Title Defense               Php 300.00

                        Proposal Defense                500.00

                        Final Defense                     750.00

                        Adviser’s Fee                   2,500.00

WHEREAS, the following were the proposed amendments to the thesis fees:

1.      Title Defense Fee and Proposal Defense Fee will amount to PhP1,400.00.

2.      Final Defense is PhP2,000.00.

3.      Adviser’s fee is PhP3,500.00 which includes Editor’s Fee to PhP1,000.00.

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod deems it proper that Resolution No. 24, Series of 2014 endorsed by Gordon College Board of Trustees approved on December 2, 2014 pursuant to City Resolution No. 70, Series of 2012 is necessary for adoption;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Benjamin G. Cajudo II, co-sponsored by City Councilor Edna A Elane, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to adopt, as it hereby adopts the Gordon College Board of Trustees Resolution No. 24, Series of 2014 entitled: “A Resolution Approving The Revised Fees For Thesis Writing”.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that copy of the Gordon College Board of Trustees Resolution No. 24, Series of 2014 be made as integral parts of this Resolution.

WHEREAS, the Olongapenos have been gradually uplifted from the Global Economic crisis which started in 2008;

WHEREAS, local business owners are still recuperating from said crisis and are therefore experiencing a hard time in meeting the deadline for the payment of Mayor’s permit due for year 2011;

WHEREAS, both City Treasurer and City Business Permit Division Officer acknowledged the situation and vouched the extension of the deadline of payment for Mayor’s permit for businesses due for the year 2011 until February 11, 2011.

WHEREAS, this legislation shall act as the City’s show of goodwill and support to the business community;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact to the following ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 03

AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE DEADLINE OF PAYMENT FOR MAYOR’S PERMIT FEES FOR BUSINESSES AND BUSINESS TAXES FOR BOTH FULL AND/OR FIRST QUARTER DUE FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2011 AS PROVIDED UNDER SECTIONS 4A.21 AND 3A.08 RESPECTIVELY OF THE CITY ORDINANCE NO. 64, SERIES OF 2007 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE “OLONGAPO CITY 2007 REVENUE CODE”

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. Payment for Mayor’s Permit fees for businesses and payment for both full and/or first quarter Business taxes due for the Year 2011 shall be extended until February 11, 2011.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.

Let copies of this Ordinance be furnished to the Business Permit and Licensing Office, City Treasurer’s Office and Public Affairs Office for their information and record.

WHEREAS, Olongapo celebrated the 50th anniversary of its turn over from the American Government to the Philippine Government last December 7, 2009;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod passed Resolution No. 168, Series of 2009; authorizing Mayor James Gordon. Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Postal Corporation for the printing and issuance of Commemorative Stamps depicting the 50th Anniversary;

WHEREAS, the said stamps, which is a collectors item is ready for sale and the proceeds of which will cover the expenses incurred and shall be earmarked for the establishment of Olongapo Center for Historical Studies or any other related purposes;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present:

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 43

AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING FEES FOR THE OLONGAPO CITY 50TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE STAMP AND CREATING A SPECIAL ACCOUNT THEREOF

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. Below herewith are the rates for Olongapo City 50th Anniversary Commemorative Stamp:

1) Package A – Includes a six-page Commemorative Folder showing a collage of Olongapo City, Message from Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., the City’s 10-Point Agenda, a brief history of the City and the lists of Awards and Recognitions earned by the City through the years. As the highlight of this package, it contains eight (8) pieces commemorative stamps and:

Official First Day Cover and two (2) cancelled commemorative stamps on it.

Selling Cost – P600.00/piece or P1, 500.00 for 3 pieces

2) Package B – Includes eight (8) commemorative stamps on a parchment paper bearing the Official Seal of both the US and the Philippines with printed text of the 50th Anniversary of the turn-over.

Selling Cost – P150.00

3) Package C – Includes an Official First Day Cover depicting the “Most Competitive City” award of Olongapo with two (2) cancelled commemorative stamps on it.

Selling Cost – P100.00

SECTION 2. A special account shall be created for this purpose.

SECTION 3. The special account shall be subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulation.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
