A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING SK CHAIRMAN ALFONSO RIBADA III OF BARANGAY NEW CABALAN FOR BEING AWARDED AS ONE OF THE OUTSTANDING SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN OF CENTRAL LUZON LAST APRIL 11, 2012 AT THE SUBIC BAY TRAVELERS HOTEL AND EVENT CENTER

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Kabataan os celebrating its twenty years of genuine SK leadership and braving the challenges of unending youth empowerment, dedication and commitment to good governance;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Central Luzon conducted a search for The Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan Award (TOSKA) which will recognize the hardwork, dedication and passion of each SK official in their respective communities;

WHEREAS, all SK officials of Central Luzon are encouraged to submit their accomplishment reports to the Central Luzon Office for scrutiny and even get the chance to be recognizes as one of the TOSKA awardees;

WHEREAS, SK Chairman Alfonso Ribada III conducted three Katipunan ng mga Kabataan and Sangguniang Kabataan assemblies, passed three ordinances and 61 SK resolutions and accomplished seven significant projects;

WHEREAS, SK Chairman Alfonso Ribada III of Barangay New Cabalan was awarded as one of the outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan of Central Luzon which was a part of the 2^nd Central Luzon Youth Summit held last April 10-12, 2012 at the Subic Bay Travelers Hotel and Event Center;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungosd in session assembled, to congratulate, as it is hereby congratulates SK Chairman Alfonso Ribada III of Barangay New Cabalan for being awarded as one of the outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan of Central Luzon last April 11, 2012 at the Subic Bay Travelers Hotel and Event Center.

A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN (SK) FEDERATION OF OLONGAPO CITY FOR THEIR EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE OUTSTANDING SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN AWARDS AND RECOGNITION (OSKAR) IN THE HIGHLY URBANIZED CITY CATEGORY ACCORDED TO THEIR PRESIDENT, HON. CHEENEE F. HOYA

WHEREAS, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President, Honorable Cheenee F. Hoya, clinched the prestigious Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan Awards and Recognition (OSKAR) in the Highly Urbanized City Category given to her during the recently concluded SK National Congress, for her robust contributions in bringing the youth sector of the City to a level of resounding excellence;

WHEREAS, this accolade accorded to the SK President will not be possible without the unequivocal support of the SK presidents and the members of the SK councils in the 17 barangays of the City;

WHEREAS, as a cohesive team, SK Hoya’s leadership serves as the force that provided the legislative bedrock for the SK’s programs and projects in the City and the SK presidents in each barangay and their councilors are the creative minds, skillful hands and able feet that implement the numerous programs on environmental protection, education, livelihood and entrepreneurship, sports and entertainment, infrastructure and basic community services, anti-drug campaigns, community immersion and development;

WHEREAS, the young constituents of the City had surely harvested the rippling positive effects of the said programs and projects carried out by the SK presidents and other officials who generously shared their youthfulness, wit, talent, time and treasures all for genuine concern;

WHEREAS, the OSKAR, a shared SK accomplishment, is another attestation of Olongapo’s fertile ground for excellent leaders to bloom and another feather on the cap of the City, the Olongapeños are so proud of;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

A RESOLUTION DECLARING SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT TO THE LAROLYMPICS IN OLONGAPO CITY, AN INITIATIVE OF ANAK TV IN COORDINATION WITH THE LOCAL SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN (SK) AND CITY SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (CSWDO)

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo declares that it is squarely behind the proper care and development of its children and seriously believes that it is in their best interest to spend time outdoors, stretch their muscles, keep fit and enjoy their childhood through simple games that form part of the national heritage;

WHEREAS, with the popularization of electronic media like televisions, and computers, kids spent more hours watching tv and playing games than talking to parents, reading books & studying which turn them into passive thinkers that hampers child development;

WHEREAS, Anak TV, an organization owned and run by all tv stations in the country is looking for partner cities to launch the pilot LAROLYMPICS, an inter barangay and inter school intramurals of well-loved children’s game like tumbang preso, piko and patintero.

WHEREAS, LAROLYMPICS aims to repopularize children’s street games in an effort to invigorate this waning aspect of folk culture; to provide more pastime for the children outside of sedentary activities and breed a more healthy generation of children;

WHEREAS, children ages 7 to 15 years old will compete in amity games which will be organized by the Local Government through the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Sangguniang Kabataan and winners will compete for national level on July 2009;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Cheenee F. Hoya, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to declare, as it hereby declares support of the City Government to the LAROLYMPICS in Olongapo City, an initiative by the ANAK TV in coordination with the Local Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and City Social Welfare And Development Office (CSWDO).

A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN FEDERATION OF OLONGAPO CITY FOR THEIR VOLUNTARY SERVICE IN WITNESSING THE TRANSFER AND DESTRUCTION OF PHP5.3 BILLION WORTH OF DANGEROUS DRUGS

WHEREAS, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority seized last May 28, 2008 contrabands containing more than 700kg of dangerous drugs (Shabu) with the estimated value of 4.5 Billion Pesos;

WHEREAS, the said contraband was ordered burned by Honorable Judge Raymond Viray of the Regional Trial Court Branch 75 in accordance with Section 21 of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Of 2002”;

WHEREAS, the Dangerous Drugs Board thru its implementing arm, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) caused the destruction of the Dangerous Drugs in their custody such as opium and marijuana and the more than 700 kilos of shabu seized at the Subic Bay Freeport totalling to PhP5.3 Billion;

WHEREAS, conscious that the said Dangerous Drugs could have destroyed thousands of lives if not have been intercepted, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Olongapo City, heed the call to witness its destruction held in Trece Martirez, Cavite notwithstanding the imminent danger and the long tiresome travel to Cavite which started at one o’clock in the morning and returned home past six o’clock in the evening;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to appreciate, as it hereby appreciates the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Olongapo City for their voluntary service in witnessing the transfer and destruction of Php5.3 Billion worth of Dangerous Drugs.
