WHEREAS, on November 6, 2013, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Olongapo passed an Ordinance amending certain sections of Ordinance No. 64, Series of 2007 otherwise known as the “Olongapo City 2007 Revenue Code”;

WHEREAS, on November 23, 2013, Hon. Rolen C. Paulino, City Mayor, Olongapo City approved and signed the said ordinance into law;

WHEREAS, the Office of the Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer and Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod received a letter from Mr. Neal C. Perez, Head, Business Permit and Licensing Office dated December 16, 2013  requesting legislation for the purpose of certain corrections relative to Ordinance No. 23, Series of 2013;

WHEREAS, copy of the letter of request from Mr. Neal C.  Perez dated December 16, 2013 addressed to the Vice-Mayor and the Members of the City Council shall be an integral part of this Ordinance;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Noel Yabut Atienza, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to enact the following Ordinance:

WHEREAS, due to the long Christmas holiday and the delay of remittances from abroad due to global financial crisis, many real property taxpayers in the city were not able to avail of the twenty percent (20%) discount on advance payment of Real Property Taxes (RPTs) as provided under Section 2B.12 of the Olongapo City 2007 Revenue Code;

WHEREAS, the City Treasurer in coordination with the City Assessor and the City Finance Committee recommended the extension of the said program to taxpayers who will pay their Real Property Taxes (RPTs) in full for tax year 2009 on or before February 15, 2008;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 69

AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE 20% DISCOUNT ON THE ADVANCE PAYMENT OF REAL PROPERTY TAXES DUE FOR THE YEAR 2009 AS PROVIDED UNDER SECTION 2B.12 OF THE CITY ORDINANCE NO. 64, SERIES OF 2007 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS “AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 81 SERIES OF 2002 AND PROVIDING FOR THE OLONGAPO CITY 2007 REVENUE CODE”

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. The twenty percent (20%) discount on the advance payment of Real Property Taxes Due for Tax Year 2009 is extended until February 15, 2009 to taxpayers who will pay their Real Property Taxes (RPTs) in full.


SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
