In the interest of public service and on joint motion of Councilors Cynthia G. Cajudo, Bella P. Asuncion and Angelina B. Andrada, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:


ORDINANCE NO. 27
(Series of 2005)

AN ORDINANCE REVERTING THE AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY FOUR THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTEEN PESOS (PHP384,116.00) FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO THE OFFICE OF THE CITY MAYOR


BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. The amount of Three Hundred Eighty Four Thousand One Hundred Sixteen Pesos (PhP384,116.00) is hereby reverted from the items Salaries & Wages – Casual and other Benefits under Personal Services of the Office of the City Administrator to the same items under the Office of the City Mayor to wit:

SECTION 3. The pertinent letter request of the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr., dated April 22, 2005 is hereby made as an integral part of this Ordinance.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

WHEREAS, it has been observed that operators of public utility jeepneys, tricycles or buses employ more than one or two drivers to operate the said public utility vehicle in shifts. However, only one of them attends the defensive driving seminar as required by Ordinance No.7, Series of 2001;

WHEREAS, attending the defensive driving seminar for drivers is one requirement for the renewal of driver’s I.D as well as the issuance of I.D’s for new drivers to operate public utility vehicles;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Cynthia G. Cajudo with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 7, SERIES OF 2001 REQUIRING ALL DRIVERS OF PUBLIC UTILITY VEHICLES FOR HIRE TO ATTEND DEFENSIVE DRIVING SEMINAR


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 7, Series of 2001 entitled “An Ordinance Requiring All Drivers Of “For-Hire” Public Utility Passenger Jeepneys, “For-Hire” Public Utility Motorized Tricycles And “For-Hire” Mini Buses In Olongapo City To Undergo Training On How To Be A Better Driver And Defensive Driving Course, And For Other Purposes” should read as “FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS ORDINANCE WILL EXCLUDE THE VEHICLE FROM REQUIRED ANNUAL VEHICLE INSPECTION AND NON-RENEWAL OF DRIVER’S I.D ISSUED BY THE CITY”.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
