ABSENT:

WHEREAS, Sergia Soriano Esteban Memorial School and Sergia Soriano Esteban Memorial High School are both located at Coral Road, Kalaklan, Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, the above-mentioned schools are located in the same site; both schools share the same facilities, resources and grounds;

WHEREAS, DepEd has guidelines that under these circumstances, integration is the most appropriate action to be taken;

WHEREAS, integration of these schools is very timely considering the amount of resources that would be saved if the schools will be integrated, thus will be a cost-cutting measure for the government;

WHEREAS, resolutions from PTA of Sergia Soriano Esteban Memorial School and School Board shall form as integral parts of this Ordinance;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan, co-sponsored by Councilors Cynthia G. Cajudo and Robine Rose C. Buenafe, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 46

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SERGIA SORIANO ESTEBAN
INTEGRATED SCHOOL II AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. This Ordinance shall be known as “An Ordinance Establishing the Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School II and For Other Purposes”.

SECTION 2. That Sergia Soriano Esteban Memorial School and Sergia Soriano Esteban Memorial High school located at Coral Road, Kalaklan, Olongapo City be integrated into one (1) public school and be named Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School II.

SECTOION 3. REPEALING CLAUSE. All existing ordinances, which are inconsistent with this ordinance, are hereby deemed repealed and/or amended accordingly.

SECTION 4. SEPARABILITY CLAUSE. If any of the provisions or parts of this ordinance are declared unconstitutional or invalid, the other provisions or parts hereof shall continue to be in full force and effect.

SECTION 5. EFFECTIVITY. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CONTINGENTS FROM THE GORDON COLLEGE-COMPUTER STUDIES DEPARTMENT FOR WINNING
THE FIRST PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF I.T. EDUCATORS (PSITE)
I.T. SKILLS COMPETITION HELD LAST AUGUST 25, 2006
AT SM CITY CLARK, ANGELES CITY



WHEREAS, contingents from the College of Computer Studies of the City-owned Gordon College emerged as the Champion in three out of the four (4) competing categories and ranked second in the GIMP SHOP Competition, the fourth skills event, in the recently concluded Regional I.T. Skills Competition using Opensource Applications held during the Student Conference of I.T. Education (SCITE 2006) last August 25, 2006 at SM City Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga;

WHEREAS, the following student-champions displayed their determination to rise above the unchartered possibilities of Information Technology as they topped the various levels of the Competition:

WHEREAS, the City Government, likewise, recognizes the labor of the following coaches in exploring the capacities of their student-trainees and is doubly honored for this accomplishment they had contributed to the City’s pride:

Mr. Froilan Mobo - Coach, PHP and JAVA Competitions
Ms. Merjolen Alejo - Coach, EDP Competition
Mr. Gilbert Poserio - GIMP SHOP Competition


NOW, THEREFORE, upon the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to commend, as it hereby commends the contingents from the Gordon College-Computer Studies Department for winning the first Philippine Society of I.T. Educators (PSITE) I.T. Skills Competition held last August 25, 2006 at SM City, Clark, Angeles City

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the student champions as well as their coaches for their information and record.
